An urban (hectic?!) life of an interior designer

Phew! It’s a bright sunny day (and hot!) when we arrived at Penang, even though it’s only eleven a.m…

Before we went to project site at Batu Feringghi, we did a detour to Gurney Plaza to grab a quick lunch (at eleven a.m? coz we are a workaholic you know, sometime we forgot how fast time fly). But, before that, a must visit to G Hotel.

I like this hotel for it’s casualness..and the fun & trendy style that suit the overall concept of G Hotel, it juz make me feel cozy but at the same time, I do think the eclectic mix of  furniture were a bit too much. However, all I can say is this is the hip hotel for leisure and bussiness.

By the way, after snapping photo we quickly grab our lunch and then heading to Bukit Feringghi.

p/s: Phew! Believe me or not this post has been in my draft box more than 2 weeks! Thank God I finally got time to post this…Well, be patience (again) for more interesting story for my site visit experience…

How I miss blogging so much! There’s so much to tell I can’t even decide where to start!

Ok, let’s start with…..

Thousands apologize to fellow reader out there for all your patience waiting for my updates. The fact that I’m able to update my post almost everyday last month, make me felt guilty… I dun even have enuf time to visit other’s blog…!

Thank you is the least that I can say…(Chewah) I’m just so occupied this few weeks, all I can think about is my work, short trip (which I’ll be posting afterward), rushing for construction issuance, rushing (again) for presentation, rushing for a lucky house buyer….(Yes, I’m finally selling my house! and Jangan Tegur has nothing to do with that…hehehe..again, another funny story I will be sharing later)…and everyday things that made me so exhausted….

Secondly, the presentation was held today. It was a project at Vietnam and I’m so excited I was given a chance to prepare are proposal for a show unit over there. The architect called me last week and briefly explain to me about the project, then having a follow up meeting just made my adrenaline rushed like crazy!

So, today, the meeting ended after 7.oo p.m as we started after 4.00 which fine by me as I’m on a cloud nine! Thank God, the client loves it so much, so is the architect. (excuse me, the last time I had this excitement for an interesting project was…the previous hotel project…but, since now is the documentation stage, it’s so boring, I always make noise to Suhida literally every morning about how boring it was…. and yer, aku paham suhida betapa boring nyer buat teknikal smpi rasa na tertido..na termuntah pun ada…zzzzzz….. )

But now, even this means I have extra workload, which I’m fine with, (for now,at least) I totally excited as the client really buy the ideas of Manhattan living style (well…not quite true as my proposal is actually creative urban, but since he adore it so much, he named it as a Manhattan style…which I’m ok with that..) He himself is the former architect, so he glad that we are on the same language  in term of design… (but I’m sorry I cant post the proposal here just as yet, but I will someday)

I really hope this will work out good as this is a fast track project, I’m quite nervous will I be able to deliver on time….

Thirdly, I wanted to thank my dear friend who always get my zzzz….sms-ed every morning, who else if not Suhida? (I know, tag ko pun tak buat lagi, and thanks for the award, nanti aku post pelan2 yer…)

Fourthly, I wanted to apologize to K Ito as I always forgot to lend you a book that you asked for? (Was it “Can you keep a secret” by Sophie Kinsella? Tau jer abg Lee bukannya ingat nama buku, dia sebut ujung2 jer…kena bg dia minum pati ayam brand…heheheh esok saya bawak, promise!)

Alkisahnyer begini…mira excited sgt na tgk cite ni tgh mlm…kononnyer na feel….feel la sgt… ! Padahal awl2 aku surrender na tgk tgh mlm, kalo tgh hari tak per la…Aku smpi lmbt psl aku da ckp ngn dia aku ada hal..dia pulak da booked tiket tgh mlm…yg ‘bestnyer’…dia dgn excited siap kol aku ckp dia booked kt cinema yg ada THX….aku tak ter pikir pulak…

Memula aku masuk jer dah adegan org meninggal…tau jer la THX…bunyi punyer gempak..tak sempat duduk, skali ada adegan seram aku ngn MENGGELABAHNYA…terus pusing belakang peluk laki aku…tgh2 org ramai!(semua org da duduk, did i mentioned i smpi lmbt) ramai org gelak giler! malu siot….

Jadi…aku mmg tobat, lain kali mira ajk tgk cite hantu atau seangkatan dengannya…pd th mlm… cinema THX pulak…mmg aku takkan pergi…!

Jadi sebagai balasannya aku ckp ngn mira pas tgk nie kita lepaking dulu nak kasi bernafas…amik ko smpi pagi kat mamak….

Sebenarnya kisah dia, dorang kt tak seram sgt..sound effect jer yg terlebih sudah…hantu lagi 10 minit na keluar tp segala mcm bunyi mengarut da play dulu… mira sebagai peminat cite seram kata Jangan Pandang Belakang ag seram…aku yg penakut ni mmg da rasa tak bernafas psl da takut giler…rase bazir tgk pun ader gak psl most of scene seram aku tutup mata….ader la dalam 50%…..hehehe

Tp ader gak adegan paling seram…satu panggung jerit mcm org kena histeria, aku tgk laki pompuan suma tutup mata ngn tangan..(aku sempat pndg kiri kanan kalo adegan seram sebab dah penat angkat tangan tutup mata…) tp aku tak bole cite nanti tak surprise..(sebenarnya takut na ingat balik, nanti aku jd psycho…huhuhu)

Dalam pada seram tu, aku perasan cite ni mcm cepat abih, mcm tak abih kupas (ingat bawang?!!) psl plot dia sebijik2 mcm org buat karangan darjah 5. Sorry to say, adegan seram dia jer yg melebih2 sampaikan tak kena mengena ngn cite, as if asalkan adegan tu buat org seram jadik la. Contohnya mcm adegan seram kt toilet hospital, elemen seram tu tak kena mengena langsung ngn overal cite.

Pierre Andre lak mcm pelakon tmbhn yg baru nak berjinak2, mcm dia ikut jer arahan pengarah…(err…dia la pengarah kan..?hmm…no further comment) Rasenya watak Sara lagi convincing walau dia cuma teman Julia naik kerete jer.. Rozita pulak too stylo as a doctor….Adegan ulang sepuluh kali jgn cite la, dah jadi kemestian pulak. I think they focused on the scary element too much, they forgot to elaborate the story.

Plot lemah tp sebab keseramannya ok la kot cite nie..berjaya buat aku bertambah psycho biler tau umah dlm cite terletak di Batu Caves….(memang konfom! konfom aku akan pindah umah! nyesal giler aku surf psl cite nie)

Moral of the story: Kepada peminat2 cite seram silalah saksikan di pawagam hall THX pada tgh mlm untuk lebih feel (bak kata Mira), untuk ibu mengandung di galakkan tgk cd saje itu pun lepas bersalin..hehehe

p/s: Sebenarnya yg aku penakut sgt psl aku penah terkena..jadi kalo cite seram melayu aku mmg takut psl budaya kita, antu kita….kalo cite antu omputih, budaya omputih..jadik bole le aku menipu otak aku yg antu tu kt negara iklim sejuk jer…. hehehe…

Dan slalunya kalo da tgk cite antu aku takut na tido uma sendiri psl berdua jer..mcm last cite seram yg aku tgk long khong 1…trus aku berkampung kt uma mak aku seminggu…jadik, pagi ni aku kuatkan semangat….pas subuh, pukul 7 pagi baru la aku msk tido….(kuatnyer semangat…;-p)

In case you are wondering…..

This is what happened:

a super duper yummy breakfast!

Loook at the yummy bruschetta look a like! But they are actually a garlic bread top with a bolognese gravy!

Yup! I purposely cooked extra bolognese gravy yesterday as I’m saving them for breakfast! Even it’s not the original bruschetta recipe but this one tasted even better with a local twist of  bolognese gravy! (as they have more spices and definitely more ingredients like capsicum, bird eyes chillie and olive…yum… and minced beef is a bonus though…) As you would know, the overnight gravy always gets better as they become thicken and the taste blended really well then.

But to be frank, I don’t bake the bread myself, instead I got the ready-made garlic bread from Giant, I love it  for them are really crispy, giving an extra kick for this meal!

My deep love for pasta keeps me looking for a reason to try a new recipe involving them and this is one of it.  I just love to modified the recipe to my own liking (Well, actually this is originally a spaghetti gravy, u can have it in the end of this post…..I just mix & match the gravy and paired them with a bread, don’t u think? hehe) And it’s so simple we actually always having them for a cozy tea time (if I made them for lunch) or a quick supper (if I’m cooking for dinner)!

Enough said, this combination made a healthy and yummy light snack of all time!

What a way to splurge on weekend…woke up late… and having home cooked meal for brunch!

To prepare this was easy peasy!

First, diced whole yellow holland onion, a few of bird eyes chillies (to ur taste bud) and sautee them in an olive oil for a few minutes before adding the spices: oregano, basil, thyme and bay leaves. ( i used dried leaves)

Stir them till fragrant, pour a whole can of Pergo tomato sauce (sometimes I used peeled tomatoes in a can, even fresh baby tomatoes, depends on my mood) then, depends on ur preference (mine is seafood or minced beef ~ for I like to use Marina Beef Burger Salisbury Steak coz they taste just like IKEA meatball! ) add them together with diced capsicum & black olive.  Bring to boil & season with salt.

Served with al-dente spaghetti or any fav. pasta.

This is our all  time favourite meal at home as it’s easy yet dam yummy! Plus they are healthy I dun mind having them everyday! Yum!Yum! (come to think of it, I do have them couples of time a week! hehehe)

P/S: I used Pergo (I prefer spicy tomatoes or mushroom flavour) if I wanted thicker and sour gravy, otherwise I used fresh tomatoes for more sweetness…

It was a love at a first sight…….Owh! He’s the only true love for me…! Even after so many people has been overwhelmed by his charming, for me he’s  still the best!

He’s so flexible he fits anytime..anywhere..!  Not to mentioned his strong body made of plastic (or fiber glass for imitation ;-p) made him so durable…He can simply be used as a dining, study, lounge, visitor or even as a modern outdoor chair….U name it…

This chair has been a huge hit during it first appearance on the 60′s, and it became famous again over a remake on 1999..made it so ‘in’ during new millennium…But..even some people find this piece outdated (as in not a trend anymore) but to me, LOVE is never a trend, it’s a timeless beauty….So they’ll last forever….Just like mine….

My furniture hunting was finally over! Last weekend was exhausted…but worth it! As I’m really satisfied to found my dream Panton Chair…n that came with an irresistible bargain…I finally got to enjoy designer style living with an affordable price!

P/S: However, unfortunately it’s not time yet for Panton indulgence as the chair was made to order…in 3 weeks! But I promise to post about them once they at my dining place!
